"This online platform has become paramount."
Founded by Javier Peres in 2002, Peres Projects is a contemporary art gallery promoting international artists to a global audience. Originally opening in San Francisco, Peres Projects has since opened in Berlin, Seoul and Milan – representing and supporting a diverse group of artists throughout their careers, who often demonstrate inter-disciplinary, and experimental practices.
Peres Projects needed the ability to push boundaries, reach new audiences, and champion artists in ways that go way beyond brick and mortar. A website proved the perfect tool to achieve this goal, as the world wide web is a landless space in which art and creativity can be housed and celebrated, transcending the limits of the physical world.

"Now that we operate in multiple locations, having this online platform has become paramount. It serves as a central hub to provide a global overview of our activities in Berlin, Seoul, Milan, and beyond, for they all contribute to the same project: sharing a common DNA, serving the same mission: to promote the most vital artistic voices of our time."
"We currently operate in three distinct locations, Berlin, Seoul, and Milan, each with its unique art scene and collector base."
"Our website is also a very versatile platform, offering our audience substantial resources about our artists, their works, past exhibitions, and press coverage. Maintaining a strong and dynamic online presence is essential for the visibility of our artists; this virtual space is also a fabulous tool to spread knowledge about contemporary art and effectively communicate with our worldwide audience."

Peres Projects' previous site was experimental and eclectic. The brief was to push into something more functional, yet still distinctly art world.
The main job was to untangle the previous collection of content, and make it more linear. The site had to reach a certain level of maturity, singing clarity and usability, to showcase the artists, and appeal to collectors: allowing the gallery’s online presence to be as elevated as the gallery itself.
"We wanted more functions such as videos, and a shop."
Peres Projects' new site is a Website Pro product, built on the Artlogic platform by the Artlogic Website Design Studio following a design consultation. By building upon the Website Pro product, Artlogic can provide a faster, more robust service.
In using the Website Pro product, Peres projects ensures that any new website features launched by Artlogic will automatically be added to the site (including: View on a Wall, Augmented Reality, Online Store, etc), plus, all updates are automatically baked into the site, thus avoiding the task of manually updating the website every time a new update occurs.

"Pulling content straight from our database is a huge improvement for the whole team."
Artlogic's challenge was to create a website that really let the art shine, functioning as a blank slate upon which new projects can forever collect and grow. In terms of design elements that feature on the website that support the overall mission of Peres Projects, it all hinges around the sans serif condensed font of the logo: heavy and robust, set against the sharp edges to the site gives it a highly contemporary feel.
The base colour of the site is mono meaning that all of the colour is shining through from the artworks, giving a distinctly art-first feel. The clean and consistent grid lockup coupled with a non-distracting visual language, allows the artwork to sit at the forefront, whilst the minimalist and structured visual language places the design as secondary to the showcase of artistic imagery.

Although minimalist, the design of the website doesn’t feel simplistic, and is highly considered in its function over form: acting as scaffolding for the art, cementing the aim of Peres Projects as a global, contemporary enterprise.
"The new website is definitely helping through a consistent design language presented on the website."
Multimedia elements really bring the site to life, adding personality and vibrancy – giving the user the feeling that they’re really entering into Peres Projects' world of art, artists, and contemporary curation.
"Now that the content we want to show online is pulled directly from our database, we are able to lead many more people to the website than before. Artwork videos, as well as the implementation of artist interviews and other content, lead more people to the website as well." -
