From manual spreadsheets to a 30-year archive at his fingertips, Eamon O'Kane Studio transformed its operations and increased sales.
Eamon O’Kane is an established artist and Professor based in Odense, Denmark. Since completing his BA in Painting and Art History in Dublin in 1996, O’Kane has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning painting, installation, and research-driven work.
Operating with a small team of three, Eamon O’Kane Studio has been using Artlogic since 2020 to support both the creative and operational sides of the business. By implementing Artlogic’s Database and Website solutions, the studio has created a centralized system to manage artworks, exhibitions, and digital presence with clarity and precision.

The Challenge
“The stress of having to keep track of the location of artworks and sales, especially editions,” became a significant operational burden, highlighting the need for a more integrated and reliable solution. Prior to Artlogic, the studio relied on manual systems that were becoming increasingly unsustainable. Artwork records were managed through spreadsheets, while the website was self-built and maintained in-house, creating a fragmented and time-intensive workflow.“I was working with spreadsheets and trying to keep track of my artworks and it was proving more and more difficult,” O’Kane explains. At the same time, maintaining a website without a dedicated system made it challenging to keep content updated and cohesive. Tracking artwork locations, sales, and editions presented an additional layer of complexity.
The Solution
Artlogic provided Eamon O’Kane Studio with a unified platform that combines artwork database management with a fully integrated website, eliminating the need for disconnected tools and replacing manual processes with a streamlined, art-specific system. The platform stood out for its “integrated system and very appealing templates,” as well as its ease of use and dedicated support, enabling the studio to transition quickly to a more structured and scalable way of working.

Beyond operational improvements, it also opened up new creative possibilities. By organising artworks across decades of practice, O’Kane gained deeper insight into his own work. “Building the website and working on the database has given me the opportunity to reflect on my artistic practice in a new way,” he notes. The ability to group works by theme, medium, or period has made it easy to produce tailored PDFs and immersive viewing rooms, helping the studio present work professionally to galleries, curators, and collectors.
The Results
Since adopting Artlogic, Eamon O’Kane Studio has seen a dramatic improvement in efficiency, time management, and creative workflow. “It is like having a team of assistants working for you,” O’Kane adds, reflecting the platform’s impact on both efficiency and output. Tasks that previously took an entire day can now be completed in minutes. “If I need to prepare a PDF of recent works or works focused on a specific theme it now takes about two minutes… where it would have taken me at least a day previously.” This represents a time saving of at least half a day per task, significantly increasing the studio’s responsiveness and productivity.
"The speed of preparing material has increased exponentially… which has definitely meant an increase in sales"

These efficiencies have had a direct commercial impact, “the speed of preparing material has increased exponentially… which has definitely meant an increase in sales.” Additionally, the time saved has allowed for greater focus on artistic production, resulting in improved quality and output. Perhaps most notably, Artlogic has transformed how the artist engages with his own archive. The ability to instantly group and review works across a 30-year career has unlocked new curatorial perspectives and informed future exhibitions. As O’Kane describes, it is “like being able to arrange multiple themed retrospectives digitally,” supporting both strategic planning and creative exploration.
